Mormon Battalion

Today we took an adventure down to San Diego.....we went to visit the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center.....At the museum, you experience the long march from Iowa to San Diego with the Mormon Battalion. We learned how this group of Latter-Day Saint men and women joined the U.S. Army and what they accomplished during and after their march.

This center was remodeled last year, they did a fantastic job. It has hands-on exhibits and resources for learning more about those who served in the Battalion. It was a fun time and makes me appreciate the sacrafice of the early Saints. The trials and experiences they had paved the way for the Latter-Day Saints of today.

After our museum visit, we went to Old Town San Diego and had lunch at a nice mexican restaurant & the went into Old Town to visit some of the other sites. It was a fun day....our Friday Adventure.
